The noble mission of the Jivitadana Sangha Hospital since its establishment is to provide medical treatment to the sick irrespective of nationality, race, sex, religion, social status wealth or poverty. It is a non profit, non government humanitarian organization dependent on generous donations of the well wishers.
From the inception of the hospital, a Management Committee was formed to manage and supervise the medical, administrative and financial activites of the hospital. This management committee is governed by the prescribed Bye-Laws which have been amended from time to time to suit the prevailing conditions. Under the present Bye-Laws the Management Committee is to be made up of twenty-one elected members who hold office for four year terms and are eligible for re-election. Out of these twenty one elected members, nine members form the Executive Committee which manages the day to day activities of the hospital. The activities of the hospital are supervised by the following sub-committees
(a) Medical sub-committee
(b) Finance sub-committee
(c) Buildings and Maintenaince sub-committee
(d) Catering sub-committee
(e) Human Resources sub-Committee
(f) Audit sub-committee
(g) Welfare sub-committee
(h) Housing sub-committee
The sub-committees have to report their respective activities to the bi-monthly Executive Committee meetings and obtain confirmation when ever necessary. The Executive Committee in turn has to report its activities to the monthly Management committee meetings and obtain confirmation wherever necessary.
